James Guest MD, PhD, FAANS, is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University Miller School of Medicine and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. His research work includes translation from pre-clinical models and all phases of clinical trials in spinal cord injury. He serves as Co-chair of the North American Clinical Trials Network, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Spinal Research Trust, and Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
Neurosurgeons are often involved in the critical care and surgical phases of acute spinal cord injury (SCI).
