Many of these risk variants localize inside or close to genes that regulate the vascular system

In this study, DNA samples were collected from 375,00 European, American and Australian participants. Out of this sample, almost 60,000 of them suffer from migraine. In the researchers’ analyses, 38 independent genomic regions were identified to have an association with migraine. Many of the researchers involved in this study believe there is some sort of genetic association with those who suffer from migraine. Based on this study alone, tens of new genetic risk factors were discovered. To read more, click here.
