At the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Annual Business Meeting, held May 4, 2015, in Washington, D.C., one proposed bylaws amendment was presented to the voting membership. On June 18, 2015, voting members of the AANS were emailed ballots and asked to vote on the approval of the bylaws amendment.
The AANS Board of Directors is pleased to report that the amendment issue was approved, with 77 percent of members voting in favor of the issue. The approved amendment will enable American Board of Osteopathic Surgery-certified doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) who are certified in neurosurgery membership in the AANS in the Affiliate Membership category (c6 & entity).
