High Daily Coffee Consumption May Lower Risk of MS

According to research published online in the Journal of Neurology & Psychiatry, around six cups of coffee each day is linked to a reduced risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS). Neurprotective properties that is found in caffeine can suppress the production of chemicals involved in the inflammatory response that is a result of MS. Although it has not been definitively proven that coffee could ward of MS, these findings add to the numerous studies that demonstrate evidence that coffee may be good for out health. “The intriguing findings indicate that the role of coffee in the development of MS clearly warrants further investigation, as do the mechanisms that underlie the relationship. In turn, this could potentially contribute to a better understanding of MS aetiology and the development of novel MS therapies.” To read more, click here
